Understanding Coach Bags Style Notes and Tips
Coach Bags: The Definitive Guide to Every Line
Coach opened its doors in 1941 producing men’s small leather goods, and women’s handbags came later before growing into the mainstay of the brand. These days, coach handbags stretch from firm shoulder bags and relaxed hobos to satchels, carryalls, crossbodies and reissued archive designs. This overview takes each key line in turn, explaining what the bag is, when it appeared and how it is made. A number of well-known lines have no reliable launch year on record, so launch dates are given only where they are documented.
Any price given here is an observed market price from 2026 and not an official list price, and figures change with size, material and promotions. Similar names can refer to quite different designs, which is worth knowing if you are choosing your first coach bag. Certain shoppers search for a Coach bag by typing “couch bag”, and that can bring furniture pages into the results, as the first word also stands for a sofa.
Tabby
Featuring detachable straps and Signature “C” hardware, the Tabby is a firm-bodied shoulder bag that can also be worn crossbody. The designer Stuart Vevers unveiled it in 2019, and its outline comes from Coach’s 1970s archive. Photographer Juergen Teller reportedly shot the launch campaign, “Dream It Real”. Sold under the base product name Tabby Shoulder Bag, it has shown up in sizes 20, 26 and 36.
Product names like Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 With Pillow Quilting refer to the softly padded Pillow Tabby, which followed in 2021. The Tabby 26 was observed selling at $475 in the US and £475 in the UK; quilted and special-edition versions sat higher. People who want one bag for both day and evening should find it a good fit, because it shifts easily between shoulder and crossbody wear.
Brooklyn
Much nearer to a hobo than to the structured Tabby, the Brooklyn is a relaxed coach shoulder bag cut coach clothing in natural-grain leather. Its launch came in August 2024, in the wake of a showing on the Fall 2024 runway. Reports so far point to two main sizes: the Brooklyn 28 and the larger Brooklyn 39. Billed as spacious enough for a 15-inch laptop, the 39 is a practical choice for work.
A newer Brooklyn Carryall shape was reported for Spring 2026, and it is not the same bag as the shoulder styles. The Brooklyn 28 was observed at £350 at John Lewis for UK shoppers. The Brooklyn was one of the bags cited when The RealReal’s 2025 resale report said searches for Coach had risen 160%. The figure, though, tracks searches rather than resale prices.
The Rogue Family
The Rogue is Coach’s structured satchel, designed with top handles and a shoulder strap. It debuted on the Fall 2016 runway, was later discontinued and came back in a 2021 relaunch. At the very top of Coach’s leather range, the line offers versions in regenerative leather and exotic skins. The top Coach bag price observed in 2026 came from a Rogue 25 in alligator, observed at $8,000.
A Made-to-Order Rogue is also offered by Coach, and the process has reportedly taken about 12 weeks, stretching to about 16 weeks with exotic materials. Restored Rogue bags have appeared through Coach (Re)Loved, the brand’s own resale and repair program. The Rogue demonstrates, to plenty of collectors, how far upmarket Coach craftsmanship can reach.
The Empire Carryall Line
Listed as the Empire Carryall Bag 34, the Empire Carryall is an elongated, east-west bag with top handles. After appearing on Coach’s Fall 2024 runway, it was released in February 2025. Fashion press reported that it had sold out on its release day. The structured Carryall 34 should not be confused with softer variants called Soft Empire, among them a Soft Empire 40.
The Empire Carryall 34 had an observed price of £475 on Coach’s own site in the UK. Its long top-handle shape makes it a dressier alternative to a coach tote bag for everyday carrying. Anyone comparing listings should confirm the number after the name, since 34 and 40 are different bags.

The Kisslock Names: Frame, Dreamer and Barrel
Kisslock is the name of a frame clasp inspired by vintage coin purses, a motif Coach associates with the Bonnie Cashin era. Avoid confusing the separate bags that share the word. Described in reports as the opening look of the Fall 2026 show, the Kisslock Frame Bag in glovetanned leather was observed selling for $350. The family may predate that show, as earlier Kisslock Frame versions also appear in listings.
Today, the Kisslock Dreamer 21 is seen chiefly as restored or upcrafted pieces through Coach (Re)Loved; it is an older style featuring quilted nappa leather and rivets. For its Spring 2026 season, Coach Originals revived a 1973 design as the Kisslock Barrel Bag. The name found yet another use as a Kisslock Backpack was also shown for Fall 2026.
Swinger, Swing Zip and The Coach Originals
The Coach Originals is a line of freshly made reissues of archive designs, so its bags are new rather than vintage. A short-strap, zip-top shoulder bag fitted with a turnlock, the Swinger is based on an original design Coach dates to 1987. The current version is the Swinger Bag 20, also sold With Chain and in Signature canvas or jacquard. The Swing Zip is a separate Coach Originals bag modeled on a 1998 design, so the two names are not the same thing.
The Safari Bag from 1968, the Dinky from 1974 and the Hamptons Hobo from 2005 also featured among the Originals reported in early 2025. Reports suggest that the Coach Originals name was already in circulation by 2020. The line fits buyers who want an archive look without the wear of a properly vintage piece.
The Soho Names: Bag 25, Flap and Sneaker
Since it covers three different products, Soho is one of the most confusing names in the Coach catalog. The original Soho Flap first arrived in 2006. The Soho Bag 25 is not that 2006 bag but a newer, smaller reissue offered in materials such as glovetanned leather, patent leather and crystal jacquard. A Soho Flap Bag in regenerative leather has also been listed, and Soho styles sit within The Coach Originals.
Unlike the bags, the Soho Sneaker is footwear that Coach has featured in 2025 and 2026, and it sits with shoes and coach clothing rather than handbags. To separate the bags from the shoe, include “Bag 25” or “Flap” to your search. No reliable current price for the Soho bags was captured, so look at Coach’s own website before buying.
Willow, Cassie and Juliet Compared
These three lines are well known, but none has a documented launch year, so treat any date you see online with caution. The Willow Tote 24, a Willow Shoulder bag and a Willow Bucket have all been part of Willow, a pebble-leather family. Coach’s own website has also featured a Custom Willow Tote, and the Willow Tote 24 is a clear example of a coach tote bag. Offering a Signature turnlock and interchangeable straps, the Cassie Crossbody Bag 19 is part of Cassie, a design that spans crossbody and top-handle styles.
With newer style codes, Cassie styles have stayed listed on Coach’s own website. Juliet is a slouchy shoulder bag in glovetanned leather, sold in versions such as the Juliet Shoulder Bag 25 and the Pocket Juliet Bag 30. Availability changes from season to season, so verify if a given Willow, Cassie or Juliet style is still current before acting on an older review.
All the Lines at a Glance: Observed Prices
For every main line, the table below shows the shape, the key date and, where one was reliably captured, an observed 2026 price. These are observed market prices, not an official Coach price list, and they change with size, material, color and promotions. UK prices include VAT, while US prices do not include sales tax. Outlet styles get their own promotions at a coach outlet, and full-price styles can be marked down during sales.
Run as Coach’s own official channel, Coach Outlet sells through outlet stores and an official online outlet section on Coach’s own website. About 85% of outlet merchandise was made specifically for the outlet channel, according to a 2014 quote from Coach’s head of investor relations. That figure should be treated as dated; Tapestry has in the meantime discussed bringing some full-price collection product into outlets. When shopping for current-season lines, either a full-price coach store or Coach’s own website is still the place to look.
